‘Glitch In The Matrix’ is a poignant track that shows off Darla Jade’s impressive songwriting ability and hauntingly beautiful voice. Even before her perfectly constructed lyrics enter, its clear how emotionally resonant this piece is thanks to gentle piano chords and distant, nostalgic beats. She explains that “we wrote [‘Glitch In The Matrix’] just before my younger brother had a major operation to remove 2/3rds of his lung due to a tumour. It was such a scary time and I just cried throughout the majority of the session, but Rory and Sophie were so supportive and I’m so proud of us for creating this.” This excellent track is taken from her upcoming sophomore EP.
